Take it to a Mechanic. ABs systems won't bleed normally. They require a setup to override the ABS control module in order to bleed the brakes properly. Your mushy brakes and ABS light are indicating that the brakes aren't bled properly and/or that possibly the ABS module is defective.I have a gmc jimmy 1998 vehicle, how can i get the abs light to go off. it wont turn off. please help asap.?
ok i can help, i have the same vehicle my light stayed on ALL the time and supposedly the dealer says that the problem is the wheel speed sensor that is mounted in the hub assembly... one way to tell if this is the issue is..

1.go out to the vehicle.

2.turn the key on (dont start just turn on) and the (ABS) light should come on, go off and then come directly right back on and stay illuminated.

if this is the case you have a bad sheel speed sensor in either the left or right front wheel if the light does not go off even for a second when the key is turned on then it is probably the entire ABS module under the hood.. i just disconected my entire ABS system from my jimmy because of this and took the entire dash out and removed the lamp.. its really not that hard.. but it is deff. not somthing you should be that worried about my light would still be on today if i hadnt taken it out.. and i drive my 98 kimmy every single day with absolutely no probs. this is a very common problem for these vehicles and nothing major.. but i can say the light gets VERY annoying... but it will be fine unless you really want your abs system to work.. if you do, then you should replace the sensors in both front wheels...

the sensor is called ';The Wheel Speed Sensor'; but i think you have to buy the entire wheel bearing to replace the sensor unless you can just find the sensor on e-bay...

good luck and if you have anymore questions about your jimmy/blazer feel free to e-mail me at blazerguy1492@gmail.com i will be very happy to answer any questions you may have to help you better understand your Jimmy!!!!
have the code checked, there are possible 47 items that could be the problem. The brake pads, shoes, caliper, have nothing to do with this light.
