I had my break pads changed but I chose not to change my routers?

I have a 2007 Nissan Versa and in May I had my break pads changed and opted not to have the routers done because I thought they were ripping me off. Now there is tons of squealing can there be other damage from not changing my routers or is it just squealing that will stop? Also estimates on how much it will cost?I had my break pads changed but I chose not to change my routers?
A metalic screeching noise is usually caused by worn out brake pads. If the rotors are warped they will cause the steering wheel to move side to side. If the brake shoes(the rear brakes) are worn out it would cause a screeching noise also. A small amount of squeal is considered normal during light application of the brakes.I had my break pads changed but I chose not to change my routers?
The pads will wear down until the waviness in the pad matches the grooves in the rotors and the noise will subside. Grooves of about .02 depth are not a big deal, but repair shops always turn them down just so they look pretty, and it looks better in court if there is a crash, and someone tries to blame them.
