How do i change a back break light?

On the back of my 2002 Chevy Suburban...there is a Long Break Light on top of the rear doors....well, the lights went out and i do not know how to fix it....i heard it might be a fuse....but i am not sure...and i cant find my owner's manual...plz help!!!How do i change a back break light?
Unfortunately that brake light doesn't have a replaceable bulb. The whole unit will have to be changed. I just changed one out on my 04 suburban. Cost me about $85 for the part, sorry not a typo there. Expensive but easy enough to change. Remove the screws, pull it out enough to get to the wire and disconnect.

It could be a fuse but not positive if it wouldn't be tied to your other brake lights. Obviously if so, those would be out also. If separate, it would be located in the cab fuse box. Drivers side on left side of dash, should be a label indicating what each fuse is for.

Good Luck! How do i change a back break light?
Take it to Autozone, tell them you want to buy a bulb for it and they will probably either install it for you or tell you how to do it.
